The courses don’t stop! The competitions don’t stopSince mid-April 2020 Nanjing University dropped 18832 pieces of electronic components to freshmen love gift package , the second welfare came!

On the first workday after May Day, Nanjing University began to airdrop gift bags  of entrepreneurship and innovation competition to students ! This is the Nanjing University College of Electronic Science and Engineering Electronic Information National Experimental Teaching demonstration Center (hereinafter referred to the Electronic Experimental Center) customized gift bags  of entrepreneurship and innovation practice for their courses .

The gift packages of entrepreneurship and innovation competition, which were airdropped by Nanjing University this time, were home-based experimental kits for entrepreneurship and  innovation courses development learning based on uav applications  and  innovative design and engineering applications of electronic systems in the spring semester of 2020. The experimental center make the students be able to conduct the experiments at home without going back to school. These two entrepreneurship and innovation courses are charged by teachers such as GE Zhongqin, Qi Haifeng, Jiang Naizhuo, Chen Zhan and Si Junfeng in the experimental center. The two courses are both industry platform courses and basic training courses in electronic subject competitions. The students selected the courses come from 4 grades and 11 departments of the whole school, covering more than 20 provinces and cities such as Jiangsu, Shanxi, Hubei, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Guangxi and Taiwan. The experimental projects involve: UAV flight control development, UAV vision module, intelligent trolley kit, STM32-103/401 development board, FPGA development board, MSP430F5529 development board, digital system practice development board, power supply, signal module circuit learning and so on.

Recently, after knowing that they can not go back to school for offline practice,the students put forward online competition learning needs.Teacher, can you send us a copy of the plane by mail? For entrepreneurship and innovationcompetition training, in addition to theoretical knowledge, practical links are more important. Before and during the course, the electronic experimental center made a comprehensive survey and evaluation of the students who selected courses. Through the online class, the students were given a comprehensive explanation of theoretical knowledge and video display. Considering that pure theoretical study and simulation experiments can no longer meet the students' needs for competition training , the understanding of knowledge is obviously greatly discounted. But the valuable experimental kits are limited, what’s more, students who are not familiar with the kits may have a certain security risk, so it can not be popularized to each student. Teacher Zhang Zhijian, deputy director of the experimental center, organized a meeting of the teachers in charge of the course to discuss and determine the selection list, and then, according to the situation of the competition team and the focus of each student's study, tailored the learning package and sent out the gift packages for the competition training. Each package contains: UAV experimental box, UAV vision module, single-chip microcomputer, circuit board components, robot intelligent car kit, soft and hard application kit. While sending out these learning packages , students are required to learn and communicate with each other under the premise of safety and they can work as a team.

The College of Electronic Science and Engineering and the Electronic Experimental Center of Nanjing University attach great importance to practical teaching and the actual needs of students. Although personalized orders are a bit cumbersome and some equipment prices are relatively expensive, the leaders are very supportive of catering to students.

This combination of online and offline experimental teaching not only solved the difficult problem of experimental teaching during the epidemic situation, but also carried out effective competition training for students who have good learning ability, which is a good measure to continuously train electronic innovation leaders during the epidemic .
